Who's Who at RMO International?
RMO Administration and Business Management Team
Steve Walker - Chairman
Steve first worked for RMO International in December 1995. By profession he is a chartered accountant and therefore by definition dull and boring. He has done all sorts of things with his life but as they have been the acts and deeds of a chartered accountant none of them could possibly be of interest to you. He does however control the general direction of the business and its finances so we are all nice to him.
Norman Goode - Operations Partner
Norman joined us in May 1999 and has the intricate task of overseeing the operation of the business. His various responsibilities include liaising with hospitals, meeting with and interviewing doctors, and managing the day-to-day administration of the office.
Karen Rowlands - Senior Partner - Finance
Karen joined us in March 2000 and is married with 2 teenage children. She is concerned with financial matters including verifying that doctors have been credited with each week worked and ensuring that salaries are paid into the right account on the right day. She will also deal with any tax matters that you might have whilst in the UK. She worked with Steve in a former life; she tried to escape but he tracked her down.
Mike Chaffey - Senior Partner
Mike took early retirement from industrial life a few years ago. Mike meets most of our doctors at the airport on arrival in the UK, and many more doctors meet him during their stay because he is the man who drives them around the country when public transport will simply not do the job. Mike is Steve’s brother in law and his passion (other than Steve’s sister) is golf.
Rebecca Gaskin - Partner - Long-Term Rota, Recruitment and Data-bases
Rebecca’s parents – Brian and Margaret Gaskin – are recently retired founder members and Senior Partners of the Company, and Rebecca has been involved with the Company since its beginnings. She “officially” joined the Company in 2005 and has improved our efficiency by setting up some real data-bases which actually work. She is responsible for planning the long term rota and is also involved in our recruitment process, contracts and contract renewals. She is married and has an eight year old daughter.
Matthew Fullelove - Partner - Weekly Rotas
Matthew has been with us for just over five years. He is easily recognisable by his North American accent; he was born in Hampshire in the UK but moved to Canada and then to Texas to pursue a degree in English literature at Austin University. He manages the weekly rotas ensuring all hospitals are covered 24/7. Matthew is married and has two young children.
Sandra Wright - Partner - GMC, Immigration Documentation and Medical Insurance Cover
Sandra joined us in February 2005 and is married with two grown up sons and is instantly recognisable by her Welsh accent. She is responsible for all immigration applications, for assisting new doctors through the GMC process and for reminding current doctors of when their GMC renewals are due. She ensures that all doctors are registered with and are insured by the Medical Protection Society during their time with us.
Claire McNaughton - Accounts and Clinical Administrator
Claire started with us in June 2008 and is the daughter of Norman. She assists Karen dealing with salaries, bank accounts and expense claims, etc. She also co-ordinates clinical administrative tasks with the Clinical Team. Claire comes to us from a sales/administration background dealing with high profile companies.
Christine Hands - Administration
Chris joined us in 2008 and is responsible for collating documents to ensure we have complete files for our doctors, CRB applications and for forwarding all post to doctors at their hospitals. Chris comes to us from a similar background to ours as she worked for the nursing division of O’Grady Peyton when RMO International was the doctor division of that company and has a background in nurse recruitment into the NHS.
James Edwards - Recruitment & New Business Coordinator
James joined RMOIH in August 2009. Working alongside Becky Gaskin, his primary responsibility is the recruitment of quality doctors to join our team of RMOs. This includes telephone interviews, arranging resuscitation courses and accommodation for new doctors, whilst keeping professional records up-to-date for existing doctors. Together with Dr Danny Barker, James has recently been given responsibility for investigating new business opportunities to help RMOI expand. James offers friendly help and advice, can respond to general rota queries and is also our Website Administrator.
Kevin Wright - Rota Administrator
Kevin joined the Rota Team of RMOI in October 2010 after working in a variety of industries. He is responsible for keeping hospitals updated with details of their RMOs and ensures RMOs have details of the hospitals at which they are working as well as general administration tasks. Kevin also provides friendly help with doctors requests including booking flights and accommodation, providing travel details and responding to general rota queries.
RMOI Clinical Team
Dr Danny Barker - Clinical Partner
Danny is a medical doctor from Cape Town, South Africa. He has been involved with RMOI for many years both as a RMO and commercially. Having demonstrated his skills and experience as Clinical Manager he soon became our first Clinical Partner. He oversees the clinical side of our business and liaises with hospitals and doctors in the event of an incident and interviews and screens prospective candidates. Danny currently lives in Birmingham (UK) with his wife and baby daughter.
Dr Jakub Trefler - Clinical Partner
Jakub is a specialist physician and rheumatologist from Warsaw, Poland. He also has a PhD in Medicine. Originally, he started work as an RMO with RMOI in 2004 but after four years of RMO work and the knowledge gained of many of our hospital groups, he has now become our second Clinical Manager. In conjunction with Danny he is responsible for the clinical side of our business and provides assistance, training and reassurance to our doctors when necessary. Although Jakub currently lives with his family in Poland the nature of his role means that he spends his time between Poland and the UK. Jakub became a Partner of RMO International in April 2010.
RMO International Representation in South Africa:
Johan Meyer - Partner (South Africa)
Johan joined RMOI in July 2004 and runs our recruitment office in South Africa.
